The Blade09 is up

it so weird, i have known that blade09 is having trouble like that the day before. And the solution is quite simple just push the power button to restart (i’m making an assumption that blade09 is HANG) or ssh to blade an reboot it(this can’t be done because i can’t ping the server).

So at 16.30 when i was in the DC room and i saw Mr E (The ‘incumbent’ SysAdmin).I just ask him and he ask me “so, what should i do with this server ??” I told him all the reason. Then he said, “ok then i think we have to restart the server” and he push the power button in blade09(just like me and my partner do). After he push that button, the monitor is indicating that the blade09 is in process of rebooting.

How he did that, actually me and my friend are doing just like him. But it didn’t work (it’s so weird). I thought he got the experiences (i didn’t have that).

After blade09 is up and ready for installation, i’m installed it with Oracle 9.0.2(struggling with the RPM). I’ve success installed the software but the Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA) didn’t work. Sadly the day after when I am trying to troubleshoot the DBCA, the server  will be  installed with Fedora.

The point are, i’ve got new knowledge about Linux, Oracle Installation on it and the RPM package that is not support by RHEL AS4

Another point is, knowledge is not enough, we still need experience. And if we combine our knowledge with experience hopefully we can have the WISDOM (it’s the art of knowledge)
